Ore Oduba ‘broke down’ over shattering moment his toddler son pointed at scars from Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins

Ore Oduba has recalled the heartbreaking moment he broke down in front of his son following a particularly gruelling stint on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The Strictly Come Dancing winner joined the liked of Ulrika Jonsson, Kerry Katona and Love Island’s Wes Nelson in the Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins line-up, with each and every recruit being tested to their maximum on Ant Middleton’s savage assault course.

Appearing on Lorraine today, presented by Christine Lampard, Ore recalled the moment he was welcomed back home to his wife Portia and their two-year-old son, Roman.

‘Coming home was a real struggle because you spent so much time being battered physically and mentally, I came back with scars on my hands, my arms and my face,’ he said.

‘I remember my son coming to the front door, he comes running over and it was a lovely moment. He was two at the time, Christine, and he saw my cut and bandaged up and he said, “Dad are you ok?”

‘I broke down, I completely broke down. You put that stuff away, to carry on and do that stuff every day you can’t think about how your body is or yourself.

‘It was the first moment I realised what had happened and how shocked my whole system had been. I had my two-year-old looking at me, “this doesn’t look good.”

During the first episode, Ore’s co-star Ulrika received medical attention after being struck down by hypothermia, while former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry broke down remembering her mum’s suicide attempt.

She was also screamed at for ‘failing’ the first task that’s known in the military as ‘the trainasium’, which from afar, looks like they’re walking across a tightrope above a great height.

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins airs Sundays at 9pm on Channel 4.
