Piers Morgan disgruntled as he’s given ‘w****r’ mug by Good Morning Britain colleagues

Piers Morgan has shared a gift he received from his colleagues at Good Morning Britain… and he doesn’t seem best pleased by the sentiment behind it.

Around the festive period, it’s commonplace for people to give their work colleagues presents or cards as a small gesture to demonstrate their appreciation for them.

But if Piers’ latest Instagram post is anything to go by, he’d happily give back a present he was recently presented with by his peers.

The television presenter shared a photograph of himself holding up a mug to the camera, a disgruntled expression on his face.

On the mug, it states: ‘A few words to describe you… Wonderful, Awesome, Nice, Kind, Easygoing, Remarkable.’

While the majority of the writing on the mug was printed in a white font, the first letter of each adjective was printed in yellow, spelling out the not-so complimentary word ‘w****r’.

And of course, the messaging on the mug didn’t go unnoticed by Piers.

‘When you mistakenly think your work colleagues like you…’ he wrote in the caption.

Piers, 55, didn’t specify which of his colleagues gave him the comedic present.

Several Instagram users commented on the post, with one stating that they need one of those mugs ‘as I know a few people who need it’.

‘That took me way longer than was normal,’ another person said, while someone else wrote: ‘I need that for my husband.’

Earlier this week, Piers and his Good Morning Britain co-presenter Susanna Reid discussed Tom Cruise’s recent rant at individuals working on the set of Mission: Impossible 7, during which the Hollywood actor strongly admonished those who broke Covid-19 safety protocols.

In the leaked tape, Tom warned that if people working on the film were caught breaking coronavirus rules, they would be ‘f***ing gone’.

Piers imitated the Top Gun star, mockingly shouting: ‘Don’t you ever do that again! I’m gonna fire you, alright?!’, adding that Tom should be wary of going ‘after the crew’ as ‘they are a vengeful bunch’.

Susanna, on the other hand, said that Tom is ‘trying to make a very important point about social distancing’.

‘And if we can’t have a Covid-secure environment at work, we cannot carry on working and that means that people are out of jobs and movies can’t be made and millions of dollars are lost,’ she added.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am ITV.
