Pooch Perfect is heading to the US and Rebel Wilson will be reprising her role as host for the dog grooming competition series
The actress first launched the series in her native Australia and the love of cute canines saw it get picked up by the UK last year.
Now American viewers can join in the fun as Bridesmaids star Rebel fronts a remake for ABC.
The 40-year-old will be joined by Lisa Vanderpump, celebrity dog groomer Jorge Bendersky and veterinarian Dr. Callie Harris who are the show’s trio of judges.
ABC revealed in a statement: ‘The eight-episode series will showcase 10 of the best dog groomers in the country, along with their assistants, competing in a series of outrageous themed challenges.
‘Each week on Pooch Perfect, teams will compete in two challenges: the Immunity Puppertunity challenge and the Ultimutt Challenge showdown.’
It continued: ‘There will be one dramatic elimination every week up until the season finale, where the top three teams will compete for a giant cash prize and the coveted Pooch Perfect first place trophy.’
Rebel shared her excitement on Instagram as she wrote: ‘I’m so excited to announce my new dog grooming competition series #poochperfect coming to ABC later this year!
‘Our trio of amazing judges @lisavanderpump @jorge_bendersky and #DrCallieHarris and I are ready to bring paw-some themed grooming challenges and adorable puppies to your screens!’
In the video, she stated: ‘I’ve got some exciting news to share with you. This is a competitive dog grooming reality show like nothing else. It’s gonna be paw-some. I can’t wait to get on set and film, and I can’t wait for you guys to see this amazing and super cute show.’
The series first debuted on Seven Network in February 2020 and had a cash prize of $100,000.
