Rita Ora has pulled out of an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show after she broke lockdown rules by partying with friends to celebrate her 30th birthday over the weekend.
The Hot Right Now hitmaker, who stated she was ‘deeply sorry’ for hosting the bash in an apology shared on social media, was due to appear on the ITV programme this weekend.
However, Metro.co.uk understands the singer has postponed her interview with Ross alongside her fellow The Masked Singer stars Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan until a later date.
Sources added that Rita is scheduled to be on the show before Christmas.
Rita apologised for her actions and paid a £10,000 fine. Writing in a statement posted on social media, she penned: ‘Hello all, I attended a small gathering with some friends to celebrate my 30th birthday.
‘It was a spur of the moment decision made with the misguided view that we were coming out of lockdown and this would be OK… I’m deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk.’
She continued: ‘This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgement. Given the restrictions, I realise how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility.
‘I feel particularly embarrassed knowing first-hand how hard people have worked to combat this terrible illness and being fully aware of the sacrifices that people and businesses have made to help keep us all safe.
‘Even though this won’t make it right, I want to sincerely apologise.’
Sources told Metro.co.uk that Rita paid the local council – Kensington & Chelsea – a hefty fine as a gesture of goodwill.
The Jonathan Ross Show airs this Saturday at 9.30pm on ITV.
