Sheridan Smith has revealed she would not rule out reprising her role as Janet in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps if the show were to have a Friends-style reunion.
The actress and singer, 39, starred in the hit BBC sitcom from 2001 until 2011 as Janet Keogh, the ditzy bakery worker and girlfriend of Jonny (Ralf Little), who loves nothing more than spending nights with her mates at The Archer pub.
The series, which also starred Will Mellor, Natalie Casey and Kathryn Drysdale ran for nine series in total and celebrates its 20-year anniversary this year.
Sheridan revealed to Metro.co.uk that there is a chance we might see the gang back together in future, as she would love to know where Janet’s life ended up 20 years down the line.
‘I mean that would be brilliant, Gavin and Stacey did their special which I thought was brilliant,’ she says. ‘We might end up getting the Two Pints gang back together, I certainly wouldn’t rule that out one day if everyone’s schedules worked out.’
Sheridan admitted: ‘It was a great part of my life and I guess most people have their university years where they go away and do that but our Two Pints days were like the university years.

‘We all got really close – we were in it for nine years so it was a big part of my life. Definitely don’t rule out that there would be a reunion one day, although it would be weird because we are all so much older.
‘It would be quite funny to see where Janet ended up. She’d probably have about 20 kids or something, still in the pub!’
While we may have to wait a little while to see Sheridan take on the role of Janet again, these days her dulcet tones are trying to send fans to sleep instead.
She has teamed up with NOW TV to read a sleep story to help fans struggling to get some shuteye during the pandemic.

Sheridan, who had a baby boy with fiancé Jamie Horn towards the start of the first lockdown in May 2020, admits that she struggles if she doesn’t get a good night’s sleep – but her little one is actually a dream at sleeping through the night.
‘I am one who likes my sleep. I have a baby – he’s sleeping through the night, amazingly – so I do get good sleep. But what NOW TV have done is bring some of the most-loved TV shows to life through sleep stories to help people drift off.
‘With the uncertain times and the anxiety, even of the lockdown lifting, people are really struggling with sleep. But I just loved how they’d written these sleep stories and I worked with a sleep charity to guide me through it because there’s certain way of reading them – it’s all about the beautiful landscapes and the smells so you can kind of just drift off.
‘There is a certain way to read to make sure that you don’t emphasise something suddenly and wake someone up, which is all new to me. But it was lovely to do and really kind of peaceful reading them – I really hope people get a lot from them and I’m just thrilled that they wanted my Yorkshire dulcet tones to send people to sleep!’
Sheridan Smith has narrated five free sleep stories for streaming service NOW TV, so TV, film and sports fans can escape to landscapes from iconic entertainment such as Game of Thrones and The Secret Garden. Head to sleepescapes.nowtv.com
