Steph McGovern runs out of studio retching over Simon Rimmer’s lazy lunch: ‘This is really pushing it to the limit’

Steph McGovern has no time for Simon Rimmer’s favourite lunch.

The TV presenter, 39, has tasked her chefs on Steph’s Packed Lunch with making their ‘lazy lunches’ all week, to find out what they eat at home.

However, Steph sprinted out of studio retching after trying Simon’s unusual concoction of beans and sausages, sardines and hot sauce.

The journalist was forced to make a quick exit while live on Channel 4 today after his go-to dish made her physically sick.

Serving up his quick, guilty pleasure meal chef Simon encouraged a disgusted Steph to give it a try.

He said: ‘Do feel free to judge me, it’s proper filth! I really like it,’ before Steph told him it ‘absolutely stinks.’

The Packed Lunch host definitely wasn’t keen, saying before trying a mouthful: ‘I’m up for most things, but this is really pushing it to the limit.’

And when Steph did eat a spoonful, it did not go down well as she jumped off her chair and out of the door, covering her mouth.

Simon, Christine McGuinness and Alan Johnson only watched on in laughter as the crew erupted into giggles.

‘Steph’s really enjoyed that!’ Simon joked before being forced to cut to an ad break.

The chefs have taken over Steph’s studio kitchen with their fave lunchtime meals this week, including Strictly Come Dancing runner up John Whaite, who served up some fishy rice cakes.

Great British Bake Off star John recently backed Steph to appear on the next series of Strictly, arguing she’d be ‘great.’

The dancer, who made history as part of the first ever same-sex male pairing in the competition, thinks his colleague would fit right in on the glittering BBC show.

Speaking during an Instagram live, John was asked whether he’d ever persuade Steph to dance next year.

‘You know I said to Steph, my friend and colleague that she should do it bc she’d be great, but I don’t know if she will, I hope she will,’ he told his followers.

‘I’m sure they’d want her, Steph’s got some moves, let me tell you.’

Steph’s Packed Lunch airs weekdays at 12.30pm on Channel 4 and All 4.
