Anton Du Beke has revealed the worst part of being a judge on Strictly Come Dancing.
The professional dancer, made his debut as a judge on Saturday, after Motsi Mabuse was forced to quarantine, following an urgent trip to Germany.
The 54-year-old was quite clearly thrilled at the opportunity to join Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood, and was beaming throughout the show.
‘I enjoyed it enormously, I felt comfortable, it was lovely to be able to sit there and enjoy the dancing and comment on all the things I loved about it,’ he began.
‘The worst part is you don’t have long to get your point across, and anyone who has met me knows that short and succinct isn’t really my game.
‘Why let a short answer get in the way of a rambling long monologue? For me, that’s a nightmare. “Shorter, shorter” they kept telling me! I was going, “Honestly, I’ve barely said hello”.’
Anton went on to reveal the piece of advice Len Goodman gave him.
‘He said the same advice,’ he added.
‘Be yourself and say what you see and I did exactly that, I just thought I have a bit of experience here, so I should know what I am talking about.
‘I made sure I wasn’t going to judge the professionals I was only looking at the celebrities and judging them, the worst part was the elimination, I didn’t enjoy that at all.’
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
