Strictly Come Dancing 2021 star Rose Ayling-Ellis proved once again that she’s the comedy queen when she mocked Giovanni Pernice over his ‘smelly breath’ – and we couldn’t love them more.

During tonight’s semi-final, the EastEnders actor and her partner delivered a stunning performance for their first routine of the evening, dancing a Waltz to Ellie Goulding’s How Long Will I love You.

They were a massive hit with the judges, scoring 39 out of 40 (come on Craig, where’s your 10 paddle?!), and earning rave reviews from viewers watching at home.

For their second dance, they performed an Argentine Tango to Eduardo Rovira’s A Evaristo Carriego, ramping up the drama tenfold.

However, ahead of their second turn on the dancefloor, Rose couldn’t not take advantage of the opportunity to tease her partner when discussing with Claudia Winkleman how they would be dancing in close proximity to each other while in hold.

Describing the choreography for the Argentine Tango, Rose said: ‘Passionate, it’s traditional, and it’s very, very close,’ before gesturing to Giovanni as she added: ‘Smelly breath.’

Savage Rose! But we absolutely love it.

The 27-year-old burst into laughter at her own quip, as Giovanni also guffawed over the cheek of his partner.

As Claudia explained to viewers how they could vote for the couple, the professional dancer covered his face with his hand as he continued to laugh over the unexpected remark.

Wonder if he popped a breath mint before their Argentine Tango?

One Strictly fan said that they were ‘p**sing themselves’ over Rose’s ruthless comment, while another wrote: ‘I love how Rose has thoroughly and mercilessly shredded every single aspect of Giovannis’ ego to microscopic particles by now.’

‘Rose and Gio kill me, Smelly breath, you tell him girlie,’ someone else wrote.

Another expressed their hope that the couple ‘remain best friends forever’, while someone else suggested that Rose front her own comedy sketch show.

We could definitely see that being a roaring success!

While they were one point off a perfect score for their Waltz, judge Craig Revel Horwood finally dished out a 10 for them for their Argentine Tango, for which they earnt a sweet 40.

Tomorrow, viewers will find out which three couples have made it through to the final.

The Strictly results show airs tomorrow night at 7.20pm on BBC One.
