The duo are about to make show history as they take to the dancefloor in the first same-sex pairing.
In the launch show, which aired on Saturday, the annual Strictly pairing ritual took place and we got to see a stunning performance by MNEK.
Olympic boxer Nicola, who only agreed to do the series if she was partnered with a woman, told hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman that she ‘can’t wait to set fire to the dance floor’.
Taking to Instagram the day after, Nicola shared a series of snaps with Katya as she teased fans with what they can expect when they hit the dancefloor.
‘Thank you, everyone, this is going to be an exciting adventure for me and Katya Jones,’ she penned.
‘Breaking boundaries, there are no limitations on what we can do on the dance floor. Stay tuned everyone.’
Speaking about making show history and being partnered with Katya, Nicola told Tess and Claudia: ‘I want people to see my personality and my fun side.
‘I want to set fire to the dance floor and bust some moves.’
‘It’s never been done before on Strictly, so we are free to do what we want,’ Katya added.
‘There are no set rules, I am going to play around with it and I can’t wait.’
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 7.25pm on BBC One.
