The Crown season four has finally hit our screens, and while fans are absolutely loving it, some couldn’t help but notice a surprise guest popping up during one of the scenes.

During episode three of the new series, viewers spotted some kind of rodent running across the floor of Windsor Castle.

Yes, seriously.

The creature, which we can only assume is a small mouse, was spotted scurrying across the floor just minutes into episode three.

And obviously, the mouse stole the limelight away from actress Olivia Colman, who plays the Queen, Helena Bonham as Princess Margaret and Marion Bailey as The Queen Mother.

The trio had gathered to together to discuss the visit to the castle by Princess Diana, played by Emma Corrin.

However, just as they did, the rodent ran across the carpet by the Queen Mother.

How did they not notice?

Viewers couldn’t help but take to Twitter to share their thoughts about the guest star – and to be honest, they were loving it.

One tweeted: ‘I think that the mouse was a happy accident, that they spotted it & kept it in.’

Another commented: ‘Who saw the mouse in episode 3?’

One added: ‘Is that a mouse !!??’

‘Am I the only one that noticed the mouse scurry across the floor in E3 of The Crown?’ another said.
