Kaley Cuoco is delighted to finally be able to celebrate Sharon Stone joining the cast of The Flight Attendant.
It was confirmed on Tuesday that Stone has been added to the bill for the second season of the HBO Max drama and will portray Cuoco’s estranged mother.
Rejoicing in the news, the 36-year-old actress, who portrays Cassie Bowden in the show, posted a photo of herself cuddling up to her on-screen mum on the sofa.
‘Welp, I can finally share this news .. hi mom , I 💜 you 😍😍😍😍 @sharonstone seriously what life am I living?! @flightattendantonmax,’ Kaley penned in the caption.
Kaley’s Big Bang Theory co-star Kunal Nayyar was one of the many celebs to react to the post.
‘Beautiful!’ he penned.
Director and producer Susanna Fogel, who worked on The Flight Attendant season one, added: ‘I am a fan of this pairing.’
It’s been teased that The Flight Attendant season two will delve into Cassie’s lack of relationship with her mum.
According to Deadline, the character ‘would prefer to stay estranged’ as ‘after a lifetime of dealing with Cassie’s alcoholism, she no longer has any patience or goodwill to spare.’
Cassie’s mother previously appeared in a brief flashback scene in the first season, but Stone will be a recurring character in the new chapter.
The show, which originally premiered in November 2020, follows alcoholic flight attendant Cassie Bowden after she finds a dead body in her bed, with no recollection of what happened the night before.
Following the events of season one, the new episodes will depict Cassie living ‘her best sober life’ in LA, while also working as an asset for the CIA behind the scenes.
