The most terrifying series of 2021 is here: Watch Julianne Moore and Clive Owen in the mind-bending trailer for Lisey’s Story

Apple TV has plus has dropped the trailer for what already looks like the most terrifying horror of 2021 in Lisey’s Story, created by Stephen King and starring none other than Julianne Moore and Clive Owen.

Based on King’s 2006 novel, Lisey’s Story follows Lisey Landon (Moore), two years after the death of her famous novelist husband Scott (Owen).

However, her marriage was littered with traumatic experiences which she’s blocked out of her mind.

Before his death, Scott described visions and an alternate universe, and Lisey cannot escape the tortured memories she’s tried so hard to bury.

And if that chaotic energy wasn’t hectic enough for you, there’s other powers at play with other murky characters trying to get their hands on Scott’s work – but what for?

After Starz series The Stand was generally slated by critics and fans, King’s involvement in Lisey’s Story should be a huge comfort for fans of the horror genius, who not only wrote the project but was on set.

Actor Dane DeHaan – who stars as the menacing Jim Dooley – told Collider: ‘He’s very into what we’re doing and the experience. It’s also fun to help to sometimes craft it with him. He’s writing extra things. Pablo Larraín, the director, has a very clear vision, and there’s a real collaboration going on that wouldn’t be possible, otherwise.

‘He’s such a big deal that what he writes is so holy that, in order to really collaborate or change things sometimes, it feels better having him there and having his blessing and knowing that he’s happy with it.

‘It’s been really fun. It seems like we’re making something really cool.’

Lisey’s Story will begin streaming weekly from June 4 on Apple TV Plus.
