The Voice UK viewers were left in disbelief on Saturday’s show, after the judges failed to turn for a contestant with a ‘superb voice’.
Gwenaelle Noval, a 16-year-old from Dublin, gave a fantastic performance on the show and was unlucky not to see any of the judges give her a chance.
Watched on by her mum, Gwenaelle gave a strong performance of When We Were Young by Adele, but missed out on a place in the competition.
She was given a rapturous reception by the virtual crowd as she left the stage.
‘Oh she was so cute!’ will.i.am said after seeing her leave.
‘I felt so proud of myself,’ Gwenaelle said. ‘I got a lot of claps and praise… Kinda sad that I didn’t get a turn, but it’s ok.’
Her mum gave her a hug after her performance, saying: ‘I’m so proud of you baby.’
‘I’m being a bit too picky,’ judge Anne-Marie conceded after her performance.
Viewers were not happy after seeing Gwenaelle go home, with many believing the judges should have turned for her.
‘This Irish girl was one of the best they’ve had so far, how did they miss out on that?’ one viewer said.
Another said: ‘Gwenaelle had a fantastic voice, I can’t believe none of judges put her through when some of the garbage they’ve out through.
What else could she have done?’
The Voice continues on Saturday at 8.30p on ITV.
