The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan teases Negan spin-off following final season

The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan has talked about the possibility of seeing a spin-off following his character, Negan.

Talk of a series starring the complicated villain has beenen rife since 2018, with updates being offered along the way. The character is a fan-favourite and Jeffrey has certainly become synonymous with the role.

With The Walking Dead coming to an end, which is set to feature Jeffrey, perhaps now could be the time for Negan to get his own space.

The actor responded to several fans on Twitter who were asking questions about The Walking Dead’s finale.

One fan asked the star: ‘I’m already crying about this, I must tell you. Please tell me a Negan spinoff is a remote possibility?’

He responded: ‘I think there are many remote possibilities. We shall see.’

The use of the word remote is interesting as it may suggest a slimmer chance, but at the very least it seems that the possibility still exists.

Earlier in the conversation, one fan asked the actor what his favourite part of working on The Walking Dead was. He responded: ‘Lots of stuff I think. But I’ll tell ya… KNOWING it’s ending?

‘Is rough for those of us that have been around a minute. Really is a second family. Going to be difficult to wrap head around. But? Very lucky to have had this time together. And next 30 eps are gonna be special.’

The Walking Dead Season 10 has been somewhat troubled, starting back in 2019. Filming was hit by the pandemic and was halted and the final six episodes are set to begin airing in March.

After that, it will move onto it’s 11th and final season sometime this year and conclude in 2022.

Outside of Negan, a Carol and Daryl spin-off is on the way starring Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus.

Elsewhere in the franchise, Fear The Walking Dead sixth season will conclude in June, while a second and final season for The Walking Dead: World Beyond has already been announced.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on February 28 in the US and follows a day later on Fox UK.
