This Morning’s Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary have made a huge impression since joining the show regularly – and it’s been revealed they’re ahead in the ratings battle.
New figures show the pair are attracting more viewers than their predecessors Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, having taken over on the programme earlier this month.
Alison and Dermot’s first show last Friday saw 1.41million people tune in, which is 200,000 more than watched Eamonn and Ruth’s final episode on December 18.
As The Sun reports, Eamonn and Ruth did however manage to achieve a bigger audience share with 23% to Alison and Dermot’s 21%.
Alison and Dermot have enjoyed a strong start to their time presenting the show together, with Alison stepping up to host the show after years as a correspondent.
However, her most memorable moment hosting the show to date came when she interviewed Graham Norton and asked how his dog was – with Graham pointing out that his dog had actually died.
The pair have gone down a treat on social media, still.
While watching Alison and Dermot’s first Friday episode, several viewers praised the duo for being ‘uplifting’ and ‘refreshing’, with one person stating that they are ‘much needed as we start this crazy 2021’.
‘Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary are a JOY I’m so glad they’re now presenting every week,’ another fan said.
