WandaVision has officially taken over our brain with catchy theme song It Was Agatha All Along – and now it’s hitting the charts as well.
In episode seven of the Marvel series, Wanda (played by Elizabeth Olsen) finally discovered that her unassuming neighbour Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) wasn’t Agnes at all.
In fact, she was witch Agatha Harkness – who came complete with her own catchy as hell track that somehow managed to knock Drag Race’s UK Hun out of our brains.
The spoiler-filled ditty, which revealed Agatha was pulling the strings of Wanda’s sitcom world, has now been let loose on the real world as a song.
To noone’s surprise, it’s already a smash hit – and has shot to number one on iTunes soundtrack chart in the space of 24 hours.
It Was Agatha All Along has also been given a trap remix and the orchestra treatment to boot by superfans who couldn’t resist putting their spin on things.
The song was destined to be an absolute classic, as it was written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez – the Oscar winning brains behind the Frozen and Coco soundtracks.
Talking to Marvel about how the song came to life, Kristen said: ‘She gets her own theme song that is in, sort of, The Munsters, Addams Family, kind of, witchy, ghoulish feeling.’
‘It also has a little bit of an oompa loompa tenor feel to it too,’ she added.
‘We decided since we could hit any decade with that, we had to kind of take a couple swings at what would Agatha’s music be?
‘We ultimately decided the most fun is to just go right in with all of the monster, witch music we’ve seen before.’
WandaVision airs Fridays on Disney Plus.
