I’m A Celebrity is about to kick off its 2020 series in a very different setting – with this year’s crop of famous faces getting to grips with life in a Welsh castle instead of the Australian jungle, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
But just because they’re not down under this year doesn’t mean the series isn’t as challenging as ever, with Sunday night’s series opener set to deliver a genuinely rude awakening for the celebs as they face a trial which sees them locked in cages.
And among the 10 who are adjusting to Welsh castle life is DJ Jordan North.
Just who is he – and how is he best known?
Who is I’m A Celebrity star Jordan North and how is he best known?
Jordan, 30, is best known as a DJ on Radio 1.
He began his career as a researcher at BBC Radio 5 Live, while presenting shows on Capital North-East and Capital Manchester – before joining Rock FM, initially working there part time while he was still at the BBC before becoming their Drivetime presenter in 2014.
That same year, he provided freelance cover on a number of Radio 1 shows before being picked as one of a number of new voices to sit in for Matt Edmondson in 2017.
He was named the new host for the Greatest Hits show on Sunday mornings in 2018, and this year became the new 11pm-1am weekend host on Radio 1.
Jordan also covers for Nick Grimshaw and Scott Mills when they are absent – leading him to occasionally be referred to as Radio 1’s ‘supply teacher’.
He admitted he’s been watching the show for years – and wants to give it his best shot now he’s on it.
“I have got so many phobias and fears. I’m worried I’ll let people down but I also want to give the Trials my best go,’ he said.
‘I hope my Radio 1 listeners will get behind me.’
What is Jordan’s Instagram?
