Loose Women’s Nadia Sawalha says no to superstition with Christmas tree still up and we don’t know whether to be impressed or terrified

Nadia Sawalha has proved she is not one for believing in superstition as the presenter still has her Christmas tree up in her house.

The Loose Women star, 57, shared a video on her YouTube channel with her husband Mark Adderley, in which her tree could still be seen standing proudly in the background.

The pair took part in a live stream for fans where they joked about the ‘state’ of the house, with boxes seen strewn in an open doorway behind them.

Nadia told the viewers: ‘Look at the state of this place, we look like nutcases,’ to which Mark replied: ‘We’re going to the skip.’

The presenter then jokingly exclaimed: ‘We’re never gonna get to the dump! Are you kidding me? I swear to God in six months time we’ll still be telling this lot that we’re going to the f**king dump. We don’t do that s**t Mark. We just talk about it!’

However, while boxes and clutter is one thing, the superstitious among us would say that still having a Christmas tree up this late in January could spark bad luck.

While there’s no hard and fast rule of when you have to take the tree down by, (have it up all year if you fancy), traditionally the tree would come down on January 5 or 6.

We’re not sure whether to be impressed or terrified for Nadia to still have hers up in the second half of the month.

Nadia had previously been called out for the state of her plate cupboard by her fellow Loose Women panellist Stacey Solomon, 32, who found Calpol that had been in there for ’15 years’.

Among the series of random items piled in there haphazardly, Stacey pointed out: ‘You’ve got your Calpol in there for when you have a headache.’

Nadia laughed: ‘My kids haven’t used Calpol for 15 years.’

The former EastEnders star revealed that she’s actually got less in the cupboard than she had before, explaining: ‘This cupboard was a lot fuller than that, but because I’ve got a ditch by the bus stop outside my house a big lorry went past and shook the house and they all fell out.’
