The Last Leg couldn’t help but poke fun at Channel 4’s recent technical disasters, joking the channel is being ‘run off a laptop in someone’s bedroom’.
The network has been plagued with technical issues over the past week, with the channel completely crashing at one point.
Before Great British Bake Off aired, there were issues during the adverts, while E4 also played the wrong episode of Married At First Sight on Thursday, frustrating viewers who tuned in for the finale.
Beginning the live show, host Adam Hills told viewers: ‘Let’s hope we stay on air!’
Chatting to his co-hosts Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker, he explained: ‘There is a chance we might not make it to the end of the show tonight.
‘This week, Channel 4 was taken down by a fire alarm which set off a sprinkler that doused an entire control panel that puts Channel 4 to air. There is no truth to the rumour that Boris Johnson was seen walking through Channel 4 holding a lighter in the air!
‘Last night the wrong episode of Married At First Sight went to air, right now Channel 4 is being run off a laptop in someone’s bedroom. If their housemate decides to upload a file, we are screwed!’
Thankfully, the show stayed on air until the end, much to the dismay of Alex, who was keen to head off and enjoy a drink.
Channel 4 told Metro.co.uk: ‘We continue to experience some technical challenges with our services and we apologise for the on-going difficulties
‘We’re working with our playout provider Red Bee to resume normal service as soon as possible.’
On Thursday night, fans of reality series Married At First Sight were left baffled when the previous night’s episode aired for the second night in a row.
The show was meant to air its series finale on Thursday night.
A tweet from E4’s official account joked about the mishap suffered, confirming it would broadcast the correct episode on Friday evening.
It read: ‘Okay, here’s the teaser for tonight’s episode (again). The twist is we’re actually going to play it this time. #MAFSUK – the finale. Y̶e̶s̶t̶e̶r̶d̶a̶y̶ Tonight at 9pm.’
The Last Leg airs on Fridays at 10pm on Channel 4.
